Godzilla has long reigned as the king of all monster movies. But its 1954 original was more a horror film than a monster film. It's widely recognized as a landmark film in Japanese cinema and deals with America’s testing and use of nuclear bombs on Japanese soil. And it was one fishing-boat disaster that ultimately led to the creation of Godzilla.
