Philippines loads 69 containers of Canadian trash on ship bound for Vancouver

The Philippines has sent 69 containers loaded with trash back to Canada after a court determined that the waste was improperly labelled as recyclable. The M/V Bavaria was loaded overnight on May 30, 2019, in preparation for the 20-day journey to Vancouver on Canada’s west coast. Philippine authorities have already buried some of the original consignment of more than 100 shipping containers from Canada in 2013 and 2014.
