The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an affidavit filed before the Supreme Court gave clean chits to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Ministers Mulayam Singh and Akhilesh Yadav among others named in a disproportionate assets (DA) issue. The development came as efforts by parties surged for post-poll alliance over the last two days. The CBI told the top court that the inquiry into the alleged disproportionate assets of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh and his sons -- party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Prateek Yadav and daughter-in-law and SP MP Dimple Yadav were closed in 2013 as no evidence could be found.

ఆదాయానికి మించిన ఆస్తుల కేసులో ఎస్పీ వ్యవస్థాపకుడు ములాయం సింగ్ యాదవ్, ఎస్పీ అధినేత అఖిలేశ్ యాదవ్‌కు ఉపశమనం కలిగింది. ఈ కేసులో వారికి క్లీన్చిట్ ఇస్తూ సుప్రీంకోర్టులో సీబీఐ ఇవాళ అఫిడవిట్ దాఖలు చేసింది. వారిద్దరిపై కేసు నమోదు చేసేందుకు తమకు సాక్ష్యాలు లభించలేదని పేర్కొన్నది. అందుకోసమే ఈ కేసును 2013 ఆగస్టులో మూసేసినట్టు అఫిడివిట్‌లో సీబీఐ ప్రస్తావించింది.
