Essential Travel Itinerary: Jamaica

Jamaica is an island that captures the imagination, a real treasure-trove in the Caribbean with a worldwide reputation for its cool, calm and collected attitude. This little island's capital Kingston boasts beautiful houses and mansions built during colonial times, open air markets with amazing street food, and the Bob Marley Museum, the home of Reggae's patron saint. Kingston is overlooked by the Blue Mountains, a UNESCO heritage site whose tallest peak is over 7,000 ft high. It's a dense and savage tropical jungle near the base. Loved by hikers and outdoors people. Negril Beach has its luxurious tourist side as well as its smaller, more laidback options and properties. Either way, everyone can enjoy a tropical drink on a hammock as the sun sets. Montego bay is the country's second city with its own lively, entertainment district known as the 'hip strip'. Visitors also love bamboo rafting adventures on the nearby Martha Brae River. Many also visit the Rose Hall Great House, a historic house of horrors which recounts the brutality of slavery.
