The IPL is a great platform for youngsters to showcase their skills and get selected for their national teams. Since the start of the IPL, most of the senior Indian cricketers have shone for their respective franchises. Yet, there are some successful cricketers who fared well for India in international cricket, but flopped in the IPL. भारतीय चयनकर्ताओं ने विश्व कप के लिये बल्लेबाजी क्रम में बहुचर्चित चौथे स्थान के लिये विजय शंकर पर दांव खेला लेकिन तमिलनाडु का यह बल्लेबाजी आलराउंडर हाल में समाप्त हुए आईपीएल में अपेक्षानुरूप प्रदर्शन नहीं कर पाया जिससे टीम प्रबंधन 30 मई से शुरू होने वाले क्रिकेट महाकुंभ में उनको लेकर रणनीति बदल सकता है। विजय शंकर ही नहीं चौथे स्थान पर बल्लेबाजी के एक अन्य दावेदार दिनेश कार्तिक भी अपेक्षित प्रदर्शन नहीं कर पाये जबकि स्पिन विभाग में अहम स्थान रखने वाले कुलदीप यादव के लगातार संघर्ष करते दिखे।
