During the 1940s and 1950s, Danny Davis was a trumpeter/vocalist in several big bands including the bands of Bobby Byrne, Art Mooney and Freddy Martin. He then worked for MGM as a producer, working country songs into pop songs, such as Tony Bennett's "Cold, Cold Heart". However he is best known as the founder and leader of the Nashville Brass.
