Leroy Van dyke has recorded more than 500 songs in his career spanning over 50 years.

"The Auctioneer" sold more than 2.5 million records, written by himself and Buddy Black. The song is written about the life of Van Dyke's cousin, who was a National Auctioneers Association Hall of Famer Ray Sims. The song became one of Van Dyke's biggest selling, and highest charting hits, reaching #9 on the US Country charts and #19 on the US Billboard charts.
