From the 80's Channel 4 TV show 'Unforgettable.'
During the late 1950s to early 1960s, Craig Douglas was a popular English pop singer, and had his sole UK number one with the hit single 'Only Sixteen,' in 1959. Funnily enough, he sold many more singles that the original, by Sam Cooke, which only reached number 23 in the charts! Douglas had found a niche in the musical industry as an act that appealed to both parents in addition to teenagers. He wasn't quite considered rock and roll, with his pleasant voice and good diction, he maintained his appeal until the onset of the 'Merseybeat' movement and his chart career ended in early 1963. Douglas continued to use his material in the cabaret and nostalgia scene for many years.
