Employees of the catering company who work at London’s Facebook office in Rathbone Square have staged a protest outside of the building this afternoon (May 1).

It is alleged the catering staff have been “bullied and victimised for their trade union activities.”

The Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union hosted the strike and have further claimed that To Go Micro Kitchens - the company who provides the service to Facebook - have threatened employees with dismissal and increased their workload for partaking in union activities.

Employees who are protesting can be seen donning high visibility jackets - similar to the ones associated with the Gilet Jaunes movement in France - while they blow on what appear to be vuvuzelas.

The filmer said: "Security just shooed them off and they got on their bus and left."
