Snoop Dogg was born as Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr on the Long Beach, California in 1971. His nickname actually came from her mother who gave her the name because she thought he looked like the cartoon character 'Snoopy' from the Peanuts. He was part of a gang and was arrested several times for the possession of drugs and spent time in the prison, he started making music as a way out of his troubles. He started recording demos with his cousin Nate Dogg and friend Warren G as part of 213. His debut album 'Doggystyle' was produced by Dr. Dre through Death Row Records. He collaborated with the legendary Tupac Shakur on his last song "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted". In 2004, he released 'Drop It Like It's Hot' which featured the vocals of Pharell Williams, the first single of the album would also earn him his first no.1 on charts. Snoop Dogg rejoined 213 once again and in the same year he released 'The Hard Way'. In 2012, he released 'Reincarnated' with the new stage name of 'Snoop Lion'. In 2015, he returned to music with his album 'Bush' and which featured famous artists such as Gwen Stefani and Kendrick Lamar. With his latest album 'Bible of Love' in 2018, he touched a new genre of music with 'Gospel'.
