First-ever talks between Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin takes place in Vladivostok

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin met for the first time in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok.
The two leaders went to a university on Russky Island earlier today to hold the first-ever face-to-face.

Sang-mi, tell us what the two leaders are up to
Daeun, Russian President Vladimir Putin began his solo presser just half an hour ago.
Putin said for North Korea the utmost important thing is to establish trust, adding that the North Korean nuclear problem could have been resolved as early as 2005.
When asked whether he was willing to talk about the results of today's summit with U.S. President Trump, he said this.
"Yes, I will be frankly talking about the results to President Xi Jinping tomorrow and the U.S. administration. We share similar stances with the U.S. when it comes to wanting complete denuclearization and non proliferation. North Korea wants that too, but they want a guarantee of their regime.
This comes after a banquet for the two leaders that lasted for over three hours, two of which the leaders spent alone together.
At the banquet, Putin quoted the old North Korean saying "We can move mountains if we work together," as he gave a toast to their bilateral cooperation, and the peace and happiness of the people of North Korea and Russia.
"Last year, amid a complicated situation internationally, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of our diplomatic ties. But we have seen the Korean Peninsula stabilize recently. Russia is trying its best to play an active role in resolving problems on the peninsula diplomatically."
"The friendly relations of North Korea and Russia are based on a history of common purpose and interests. The people of the two countries are dear friends. We formed this affection as comrades fighting the Japanese during the war and as soldiers who bled for the liberation of Korea.
The leaders' one-on-one meeting started at 2:10 p.m., local time,... at the Far Eastern Federal University.
The campus was built in 2012 at Putin's personal order to host the APEC summit.
That meeting was planned to last only 50 minutes but went on for about two hours.
That was followed by the extended talks with their top aides.
On Kim's side was Pyeongyang's top diplomat, Ri Yong-ho, and Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui. And with Putin were nine top aides, including Russia's foreign minister Sergey Lavrov.
The North Korean leader said it was a "very meaningful exchange of views on issues of mutual interest."
And Putin said he had a "substantial discussion" with Kim, exchanging views on Pyeongyang’s nuclear program and ways to develop their future relationship.
The last time leaders from the two countries met was in 2011... when it was Kim's late father, Kim Jong-il, meeting then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
