Meet Tiana Barnum, a nine year old who recently earned her first degree black belt, becoming the youngest student to ever earn the belt at her karate school. Tiana is in fourth grade, and generally schools don’t test for that degree of black belt until a student is 11 or 12. The test is a grueling five-hour challenge of physical and mental strength, and she trained for months leading up to the event.
