Living Off the Grid in Hong Kong

Mok Ho-kwong calls himself “Yeah Man,” a play on the Chinese words for “wild man.” He lives off the grid in the bustling city of Hong Kong, choosing to chop his own firewood and drink water from the hills outside the city center.

Mok strives to live a zero-waste life. Most of his energy comes from solar panels, his son’s toys are all second-hand, and even his wedding ring was made out of grass.
