This was the scary moment a packed commuter train caught fire at London Bridge as passengers were forced to leave the carriages.
According to local media, London Fire Brigade was called to the fire on a Southern Rail train at 8:45am this morning (April 8) on the 7.56 Sutton to London Bridge train.
According to the filmer, after commuters smelt burning on the train at the village of Cheam, a check had been performed at the next stop in Sutton where it was given the clear to continue its journey to London Bridge.
Local media reported that fire was coming from the brakes of the train.
While there are no reports of any injuries, complaints have been voiced on Twitter about staff members inaction to put out the fire, with one account @BeepStudios tweeting "Small fire developing for several minutes, staff look at it but don’t deploy extinguishers, fire services waiting outside as the flames grow higher."
Following the incident Southern Rail tweeted "We advise NOT to travel through or to London Bridge this morning" and that services running through the station are heavily impacted.
