After his visit to the U.S., South Korea's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon stopped off in Tokyo to meet with his Japanese counterpart on Monday.
The two exchanged evaluations on the current stalemate between North Korea and the U.S.... and promised to work closely together.
This comes amid Pyeongyang and Washington continuing to openly give their takes on the Hanoi summit.
North Korea says it wanted a gradual rollback of its nuclear program in exchange for the partial removal of sanctions at each step.
The U.S. is asking Pyeongyang to take denuclearization steps with an overall roadmap in exchange for sanctions relief.
