S. Korea's acceptance of sexual minorities, homosexuality well below OECD average: report
  • 5 years ago
A recent OECD report shows that Korea has a low acceptance of homosexuality.
Korea scored two-point-eight on a scale of one to ten.... for accepting sexual minorities like homosexuality... ranking 32nd out of 36 OECD countries.
Only Turkey, Lithuania, and Latvia ranked below Korea.
The OECD report, which covers the 2001-to-2014 period,.... shows an improvement from the 1981 to 2000 report,.... but Korea still is far below the OECD average of five-point-one.
The report raises concerns about discrimination against sexual minorities.
Japan scored four-point-eight and the U.S. scored five… while Iceland ranked highest with a score of eight-point-three.
