U.S. Coast Guard's Bertholf deployed in Jeju this week for joint drill

The U.S. Coast Guard's Bertholf is to be deployed to waters off Jeju Island this week to crack down on illegal drug shipments as well as for rescue and operations.
South Korea's Coast Guard says.... the Bertholf, a Legend-class maritime security cutter, will be deployed to Jeju port for three days until Thursday... with a joint drill planned on the last day with the South Korean Coast Guard.
The U.S. had requested the drill during the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum held in China last September.
The 45-hundred ton Bertholf is the largest patrol ship in the U.S.,.... and can operate offshore for more than six months.
And it's considered quite rare for the Bertholf to join a drill outside American waters.
