Jordan Peele's 'Us' Nabs
$7.4 Million on Opening Night The horror-thriller 'Us' debuted
in North America on March 21. It beat out 'The Nun,' which made
$5.4 million on its opening night
and 'A Quiet Place,' which
only made $4.3 million. 'Us' is projected to make as much as
$45 million in its opening weekend, topping
Peele’s previous film, 'Get Out,' by over $10 million. The movie is Peele’s first
project with Universal Pictures
after the $225 millions worldwide
success of 'Get Out' in 2018. 'Us' will launch in 48 international
markets across 3,741 theaters. It currently has a 95% rating
on Rotten Tomatoes, and is one of the “most anticipated movies
of the year” after it launched at the 2019
South by Southwest film festival.
