On Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Pala, California, a man did not hesitate a second to enter his house on fire to save his dog. Jose Guzman ate at his parents' house with his wife and children when he heard of a fire in his neighborhood. He did not think his house was concerned because he was gone less than an hour ago. He still wanted to check. When he arrived, he saw that the neighbor's fire had spread to his home. He also realized that firefighters lacked water. Knowing that his two-year-old dog Gabanna was in the house, he did not think and rushed inside braving the flames and risking his life to save him. Jose found his dog hidden in the bathroom, the only room that was not on fire. He then came out safe (despite some burns) from the house with his dog.
