White House economic adviser says U.S. close to final trade deal with China

White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett says the U.S. is close to clinching a trade deal with China.
In an interview with Fox Business Network, he said Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has made a lot of progress in his negotiations with his Chinese counterpart.
Hassett said the final trade deal would be good for the economies of both China and the U.S.
His positive sentiments were echoed by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
His comments follow a Wall Street journal reports suggesting Presidents Trump and Xi could meet later this month to finalize a deal.
