The worst is not yet over for Chennai where It is pouring continuously as the metropolis confronts its worst crisis after record rain left most of the city flooded. The airport, which has not been operating since Tuesday evening, will remain closed till Sunday. However the Rajali Naval Air Station at Arakkonam, 70 km west of Chennai, will now function as a makeshift airport. The Met department has forecast rain over the next three days with the next 48 hours being very critical. The water level has been rising in parts of the city. The Saidapet bridge over the Adyar river, which runs through the city, was closed to traffic as water spilled on to the road.
