Nation at 9: Karnataka government makes another attempt to rein in club class

If you are living in the city of Bangalore, rotting garbage, polluted water and potholes may have become a part of your life. But it seems that rather than focusing on solving the people's problems, the netas in the state are busy awarding themselves more perks. NewsX has accessed a draft amendment drawn up by the Karnataka govt to pass a law that entitles MLAs, believe it or not, to get permanent membership in clubs. When we tried to ask the Congress about it, they said that its only a form of monitoring that needs to be done to ensure the clubs don't indulge in financial irregularities. Their apathy has forced us to question whether your vote has now become an access pass for the VIP netas to get all the luxuries they desire.
