Armyman objects to girl’s harassment, is killed

An Armyman, Ved Mitra Chaudhary, was beaten to death by six men who were harassing a girl at Rohta road near the cantonment area Thursday. He succumbed to his injuries at the Army Hospital. Chaudhary was beaten with iron rods and hockey sticks before the attackers. “Three persons have been arrested and a manhunt has been launched to nab the rest,” SSP Dinesh Chand Dubey said. “We salute the soldier who sacrificed his life for a cause.” His body has been sent to his native village, Titoli in Shamli district, for last rites.
