Punjab hikes CM, MLA salaries

CHANDIGARH: The SAD-BJP government in Punjab hiked the basic salaries of the chief minister, ministers and the MLAs.

According to the new pay bands, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, who was declared as the highest paid chief minister in India by an IIM Ahmedabad study in 2014, will get the maximum hike in his basic salary component from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
