CBI Director appointment LIVE: A crucial meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led high powered committee will meet in Delhi on Thursday to discuss names for the new CBI Director.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led high powered committee is all set to meet today to discuss probable names for the new Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director. Besides Modi, the Select Committee comprises Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Justice of India (CJI). However, the CJI will be represented by Justice AK Sikri. CJI Ranjan Gogoi had recused himself after the Supreme Court bench headed by him had overturned the Centre’s decision to send then CBI Director Alok Verma on leave following corruption charges against him.
आखिर कौन बनेगा सीबीआई डायरेक्टर? खबर है कि प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय से संबद्ध कार्मिक विभाग यानी डीओपीटी ने डायरेक्टर जनरल स्तर के 10 आईपीएस अफसरों में से आखिरी चार नामों की सूची तय समिति के लिए तैयार की है।सूत्रों का कहना है कि इस संभावित सूची में जो तीन नाम सबसे ज्यादा चर्चा में हैं उनमें 1985 बैच के आईपीएस अधिकारी और मुंबई के पुलिस कमिश्नर सुबोध कुमार जायसवाल, उत्तर प्रदेश के पुलिस महानिदेशक ओ पी सिंह और राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी -एनआईए के प्रमुख वाई सी मोदी हैं। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, सुप्रीम कोर्ट के चीफ जस्टिस रंजन गोगोई और लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे की समिति इनमें से किसी एक नाम पर मुहर लगाकर दो साल के तय कार्यकाल के लिए उसे सीबीआई प्रमुख के पद पर नियुक्त करेगी।
