Smuggled waste deported from China

Large amounts of contaminated materials smuggled into China with other waste has been returned to dispatching countries, including the US. In eastern China’s Zhejiang province, a waste paper shipment from the US was found to contain glass and plastic. Meanwhile, in southern Guangdong province, lead concentrate imported from South Korea was mixed with mineral ash residue, which gave off a suspicious smell and a different appearance from normal lead concentrate. Both shipments were sent back to the country of origin.
