Lawyers demands apology from Maneka Gandhi

The Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development Maneka Gandhi on Thursday landed in a controversy after a lawyer accused her of slapping him. Dharamedra Kumar Verma, a lawyer, who is said to be close to the ruling-Samajwadi Party, has levelled allegations that Pilibhit MP, Maneka, slapped, kicked and confined him to a room. "Verma, who is a resident of Barkehda area, complained that some BJP workers arrived at his house on Thursday morning and forcibly took him to Maneka at her camp office in Shanker Salvent Bhawan on Bisalpur road", Superintendent of Police Sonia Singh said.
