Girl child kidnapped despite heavy police presence
Two days after a three-year-old girl went missing from India Gate, Delhi Police is still clueless about her whereabouts. The case is likely to be transferred to the crime branch or special cell, sources said.
Accessed the CCTV footage of cameras installed at India Gate which show the girl wearing a frock playing till 9.21pm. The girl, Jahnvi Ahuja, first appears on the cameras at 9.21.34 and is seen chasing toys. She appears again at 9.21.47, when the rotating cameras return to the place where she was playing, and then goes missing.
The family is inconsolable and the girl's mother has stopped eating. "Cops have promised us that we would get back our child, but I see no hope. It was a high security area and we never thought she would go missing from there," said the girl's uncle. A case has been lodged on a complaint by the child's father. The family has not received any ransom call and cops suspect she may have been lured away by a trafficker.
