Power and water supply was snapped to the official accommodations of former union minister Ajit Singh and other ex-Congress MPs including Jitendra Singh and cricketer-turned politician Mohd Azharuddin for failing to vacate their government bungalows despite having been served eviction notices.
"Power and water supplies have been disconnected to a total 30 houses occupied by former ministers and ex-MPs who are yet to vacate their government accommodations despite being given adequate time to do so," said a senior NDMC official. He added that the action-taken report has been submitted to the Lok Sabha Housing Committee.
Only a few days back a team of Delhi Police had landed at RLD chief Ajit Singh's bungalow on Tughlaq Road to get the house vacated. But they returned as Singh was out of the country. Passing a general instruction on Friday, the urban development minister had asked his officials to get the house vacated as soon as they can.
