Narendra Modi arrives in Kargil, to inaugurate 2 hydro-power projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ladakh on Tuesday on a daylong visit.

Modi was received at the Leh airport by Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra, chief minister Omar Abdullah, Ladakh parliamentarian Nawan Rigzin Jora, chief of Indian Army Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag and senior civil, police and military officials.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Union power minister Piyush Goyal and national security advisor Ajit Doval.

Modi will inaugurate the 45 MW Nimoo-Bazgo hydroelectric power project which is situated at Alchi village, 70km from here.

The inauguration will be done at Leh polo grounds, where he will also be addressing a public rally.
