Congress demands Deputy Speaker's post

Government sources said while the deputy speaker's post would go to the opposition, there is no clarity yet over the party affiliation. A decision will be taken after the Speaker's election on Friday afternoon.

The government is equally non-committal on whether Congress can claim the leader of opposition's post with senior ministers pointing to precedents when the appointment was not made.
