Supreme Court gives centre 1 week to set up black money SIT

The Supreme Court on Friday gave the Centre a week's time to notify a Special Investigation Team to probe black money stashed in foreign banks by Indians.

The SIT will be supervised by two retired apex court judges.

The top court also asked Centre to secure safely all documents and names of Indian account holders in LGT Bank, Liechtenstein, given to India by Germany.

SC asked revenue secretary to keep these documents safe and secure.

The court directive came as petitioner Ram Jethmalani, referring to the fire in Shastri Bhawan on Thursday, expressed concern about the safety of documents relating to black money.
