Lok Sabha polls 2014: Battle in Karnataka

As many as six former chief ministers of Karnataka, one of whom is an ex-prime minister, are among the political bigwigs in the hunt for Lok Sabha seats in the state, with the three main parties fielding two of these candidates each.

The Congress is represented by Dharam Singh and Union petroleum minister Veerappa Moily, who are incumbents from Bidar and Chikkaballapur, respectively. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates Sadananda Gowda and B.S. Yeddyurappa will contest from Bangalore North and Shimoga, while the Janata Dal (Secular)'s father and son duo of Deve Gowda and H.D. Kumaraswamy will contest from the traditional strongholds of Hassan and Chikkaballapur.

Moily and Kumaraswamy will face off against each other in the Chikkaballapur constituency, where BJP leader Bache Gowda is also contesting from.
