The state's bifurcation issue is set to shake up the Andhra Pradesh assembly once again on Friday when it convenes to discuss the controversial Telangana bill. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, intended to carve out a separate Telangana state, was tabled in the assembly on December 16 but could not be discussed as the two factions kept sparring inside and outside the House during the week-long session. The assembly is meeting now in two phases, with a Sankranti break, to debate the bill that has to be sent back to the Centre by January 23. However, it is to be seen if those opposed to Telangana's creation — YSRCP, Seemandhra TDP and the Congress — would allow the discussion to take place.
