The ongoing stand-off between Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav has reached a climax with both factions calling for parallel meetings in Patna today. Speculation is rife that Nitish may formally announce an alliance with the BJP and also take action against Sharad Yadav for anti-party activities. On the other hand, Sharad Yadav has called for a convention in Patna. Instead of accepting Nitish's proposal to join the National Executive Meet, Sharad Yadav has decided to showcase his strength through today's meeting and is likely to quit the JD(U). As Bihar politics becomes a flashpoint, one thing is clear that Janta Dal United stands divided at the moment.
