KOLKATA: With churches coming together to express their anguish over the vandalism at Christ Church School in Dum Dum, chief ministerMamata Banerjee has stepped in to assuage hurt feelings. Expressing her solidarity with Christian schools, she called up Archbishop Thomas D'Souza, head of the Roman Catholic Church of the Kolkata diocese, on Sunday and assured all possible help. With the church throwing its weight behind arrested principal Helen Sircar and demanding her immediate release on bail, the chief minister's move assumes significance.
