NewsX: Encounter cop Vanzara cannot resign, says Gujarat government

The resignation offered by jailed Gujarat cop DG Vanzara in a lengthy and acerbic letter which took on "god" Narendra Modi and his close aide Amit Shah, has been rejected by the state government on technicalities. Gujarat government sources today said the IPS officer's resignation can't be accepted as he is facing serious charges and a vigilance clearance is needed to forward his case to the union home ministry.
