Khurshid to NewsX: India considering buying Oil from Iran

Oil Minister Verrappa Moily has proposed to buy oil from Iran despite US sanctions. It will reduce the import burden by 8.47 billion dollars. Iran accepts Indian currency payment so it will also help save foreign exchange outgo and reduce current account deficit.

But will India go against the big daddy? Our correspondent spoke to external affairs minister Salman Khurshid who has indicated that India is governed by UN sanctions and not US.
