News 1) Defence Minister AK Antony stirs up a hornet's nest by claiming that the attack which killed 5 Indian soldiers in J&K's Poonch sector was carried out by 20 heavily-armed terrorists in Pakistani Army uniform. In a brief statement to the Rajya Sabha, the Defence Minister also gave his condolences to the families of the 5 martyrs.

News 3) In West Bengal, a 22-year-old youth was shot dead by criminals when he tried to stop them from molesting his sisters early on Sunday.The incident happened in Katwa district's Nashipur village. The youth slept in the same room as his sisters aged 18 and 20 years of age. Sometime between 3 and 4am, four criminals barged into the house and tried to drag the girls away. The youth tried to protect his sisters, when one of the men fired at him from a pipe-gun and the bullet hit him in the left side of the chest. He soon succumbed to the injuries.
News 4) It seems, suspended IAS officer Durga Nagpal is not the only one who is being victimised by an arrogant political class. Another woman bureaucrat was shunted by the J&K Govt for not serving kebabs to a politician. And in Karnataka, an officer's transfer is being held back because he took on the political class who will protect the honest in India.
