NewsX: Rituparno Ghosh, one of the most talented young film filmmakers from benagli cinema is no more. The filmmaker passed away at his residence around 7.30am in the morning. The 49 year old filmmaker was suffering from disease of the pancreas. The director died in his sleep because of cardiac arrest.

Many film actors and actresses from the world of Bengali cinema have thronged his residence to pay their last respects. Ghosh won 12 national awards right from his first film Hirer Angti, was made in 1994.

Ghosh was reckoned a master at capturing the sentiments of the urban educated middle class on reel in films life Unishe April, Abohoman, Utsav, Bariwali, Arekti Premer Golpo, Choikher Bali, Antar Mahal and King Lear are among his noted films.

Ghosh was currently working on film Satyaneshi, based on popular Bengali detective character Byomkesh Bakshi.
