SC stays arrest of Ashis Nandy

Partial relief to sociologist Ashis Nandy, the Supreme Court has stayed the arrest of Nandy over the alleged anti-dalit remarks. However, the apex court besides offering the stay criticised him for his statements. The court asked Nandy to be careful in future and not make statements, the meaning of which he did not intend to. Nandy had sought the SC to protect him from arrest and also urged the court to quash all FIRs registered against him.
