PM to campaign in Gujarat today - NewsX

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address a poll rally in Vasanda of Navsari district of Gujarat today. Vasanda constituency is in South Gujarat where voting will be held in the first phase on December 13. This is Prime Minister's first poll rally in the poll-bound Gujarat. PM's Gujarat visit comes just two days after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi made a whirlwind tour of the state. During her visit Sonia Gandhi slammed the Modi govt, calling the Gujarat CM and the BJP as a party for select few who does not care for the poor or the common people. Union Minister for State of Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot blamed Narendra Modi-led BJP govt's faulty policies for farmers suicides in the state. Union minister of state for power Jyotiraditya Scindia said that power situation in Gujarat was not as good as is made out to be and that over ten lakh applications for power connections from farmers were pending in the state. Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Ajay Maken has questioned Modi's claim to build 50 lakh low-cost houses in the next five years.
