Ex Army chief to join farmers' protest - NewsX

Former Army chief, Gen VK Singh will be joining an attempt to picket Parliament on December 4th. Sugarcane farmers, led by the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan will hold the protest. Singh had earlier called for picketing Parliament if the government didn't reject the Rangarajan commission recommendations on sugar sector regulation. The RKMS said VK Singh will be present with the farmers throughout the day-long protest. It added that the Rangarajan Report will adversely affect farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
