Rain wrecks traffic movement in Mumbai

Major traffic snarls were reported in various parts of the city on Wednesday due to heavy rain. Navigating the Western Express Highway was particularly a problem for motorists, some of whom were delayed by hours.Traffic was affected at Andheri subway, Bahar Cinema junction at Vile Parle, Bhandup, Mulund, Juhu and Malad subway. Water logging was also reported on the railway tracks at Kurla. The traffic police posted additional personnel for bandobast and to issue diversions wherever necessary. A smartphone app also started monsoon traffic alerts for motorists.
