Agra: Engineering student molested in name of ragging - NewsX

An engineering student was molested by his seniors in the name of ragging. The student is currently admitted in AIIMS (AIIMS) Hospital, New Delhi. Despite strict anti- ragging laws in colleges, the students do not refrain from ragging their juniors. Balram Giri is a resident of Rewari, Haryana and he is a student of second semester in Sainath Engineering College, Agra. On July 23, Balram was forced into a senior's room where he was administered some intoxicating material. He fell unconscious and then the seniors molested him. Balram later reached his room. His friends panicked on seeing that froth was coming out of his mouth. They immediately called the warden and he was taken to a hospital. Balram's elder brother and other family members arrived in Agra the next and decided to take him to AIIMS after his situation deteriorated. The college authorities, however, claimed that Balram is suffering from some disease and he has such fits quite often. Police have registered a case in the matter and investigations are on.
