BJD MLA hostage: SC to hear PIL against release of Naxals - NewsX

The SC is set to hear a plea against the BJD government in Odihsa filed by ex-Army man, Major Gen GD Bakshi seeking to restrain it from exchanging hard-line Naxals for abducted MLA. Odisha govt has given in to pressure from the Maoists. Odisha govt has agreed to withdraw cases against 13 Maoist prisoners. But this knee jerk reaction from the Odisha govt did not come till a threat from Naxals sent shockwaves.
When Odhisha govt did not take any decision till the 5 pm deadline on Wednesday, Naxals declared that they will not extend the deadline. Naxals also threatened to decide the fate of BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka in the naxal court.
