India News : Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu has been booked on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl who has been staying in a hostel operated by the godman's trust in Jodhpur, Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
The police said the minor girl submitted a written complaint at Kamala Market Police Station in central Delhi on Tuesday evening.
"We registered the complaint, but the girl said the incident occurred in Rajasthan, so the case will be forwarded to Rajasthan," a police officer told IANS. The complaint was filed as a 'zero first information report', which allows a crime victim to approach the police anywhere.
