BSNL-WiMax deal: CBI raids major cities- NewsX

CBI raids in connection with the BSNL-WiMax deal in nine places including Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Gurgaon. Raids are also in progress in 9 places in Tamil Nadu. The CBI had registered a preliminary inquiry in 2011 where it had alleged that former telecom minister A Raja forced BSNL to sign a deal with a private firm Starnet to procure the WiMax technology. Wimax is one of the technologies that offer wireless broadband services.
