Kishtwar violence: BJP demanded for parliamentary delegation to J&K

New Delhi: The BJP on Tuesday demanded that an all-party parliamentary delegation be sent to Jammu and Kashmir to get first-hand information on the situation in riot-hit Kishtwar.

"The incidents which have taken place in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir do not augur well for the country," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur Yogi Adityanath said in the Lok Sabha during question hour.

The clashes took place on August 09 after one group of people attacked another group raising pro-independence slogans on the day Eid al-Fitr was celebrated. More than 80 shops, a petrol pump, an oil tanker, and some vehicles of the state police and fire department were torched in
