India News: After sexist tweets on Shobhaa De, Nitesh Rane targets Gujaratis

India News: Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane's younger son and Swabhimaan Sanghatana leader Nitesh Rane's remark on a micro-blogging site over Gujarati populace residing in Mumbai and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, sparked off a controversy with BJP leaders in the Upper House demanding action against him on grounds that such utterances, "may lead to social disharmony".

For the past few days, Nitesh, aspiring politician known for grabbing headlines with controversial statements, has been posting remarks on Gujarati communities' culinary habits and their penchant for showering lavish praises on Narendra Modi.

In one such barb, Nitesh took a dig at the community's obsession with vegetarianism, stating: " Veg skies, Veg hospitals, Veg housing societies...Soon Veg Mumbai! Either Gujjus should go back to Gujarat or they turn Mumbai into Gujarat... Red alert."
